Aam Aadmi Party - Reason For The Meteoric Rise
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was formed in 2012, with the objective of eradicating corruption in politics and increasing the participation and say of commoners in the functioning of the government. In just over 10 years, the AAP has formed governments in 2 Indian states. For a party that was formed by social-activists and people with no political-background and experience, it has done well to, very convincingly, win three state-elections, (2015, 2020 & 2022) in a short span of ten years.
We, being an astrology website, will evaluate for our readers and followers, the horoscope of the Aam Aadmi Party, touching upon some of the salient features of the horoscope and explaining the reasons behind AAP’s popularity and the strong connection this political party has made with voters.

Now, before we explain the importance, meaning and relevance of the given yogas, (combinations in the horoscope) we will give some information to the readers through some questions relevant to the topic.
Question – What is the purpose of a democracy? Who is the most important in a democracy?
OR
Which category of people, are the most important in a democracy?
Ans – The purpose of a democracy is to give people the power to choose their leader, thereby giving them a say in the formation of policies and rules they are governed by.
In any society, the people who do hard-physical-labour, or those who toil hard and sweat to earn their money, or people in blue-collar jobs, greatly out-number the white and super-white-collar-job population. Things are no different in India. Largely being an agricultural and rural economy, India’s population consists of people working in the agricultural sector, factory-workers, manual-labourers, and fishermen.
This category of people – the working class, is represented in astrology by Saturn. Saturn is the significator of the masses.
In any country or society, easily, about two-thirds of the population, fall in the working-class category, or the category of people who are represented by Saturn. Being the largest group, they are the voters who decide the fate of parties contesting elections.
Therefore, in a democracy, the most important people are the working class.
And consequently, the most important planet in the horoscope of any political party, operating in any democratic set-up, is the planet that represents the working-class – Saturn.
Saturn represents the ‘working class’ or the commoners. The Hindi words ‘Aam Aadmi’ literally mean – ‘common man’. The name of the entity being discussed here is the ‘Aam Aadmi Party’. After evaluating their horoscope, we think the AAP could not have chosen a more apt name for their party.
Question – Why are points 2 to 7 in the salient features list, talking about the 10th house? What’s so special about this house?
Ans – The importance of the 10th house will be given in 3 parts.
Part 1 – Influence of the 10th House
In any horoscope, the 1st, 4th, 7th & 10th houses are called kendras. ‘Kendra’ is a Sanskrit word and literally means ‘centre’. If a planet is placed in any of the four ‘centres’ of the horoscope, it becomes a major and very important decision-maker in the life-story of the person/entity. And, the people/objects/environments that signify such a planet, become the main characters and objects in the life-story of that person/entity.
If the horoscope was a maths equation, planets in the Kendra houses would be the ‘constants’ in that equation and planets in other houses would be ‘variables’. What this means is – results indicated by planets placed in kendra houses of the horoscope are relatively constant throughout life and the promises made by such planets are delivered on repeatedly.
Therefore, for the Aam Aadmi Party, the working-class, and its issues and concerns, will always be a constant in the Aam Aadmi Party’s agenda.
If Saturn had been in any other house, which was not a Kendra, the issues and concerns of the working-class would have become ‘variables’ for the AAP, to be tweaked and used as per convenience in their political experiments.
Also, each of these kendra houses, has a stronger and more apparent impact on the life of the person/entity than the previous kendra house. This implies – The 4th house is stronger than the 1st house, the 7th house is stronger than the 4th house, and the 10th house is stronger than the 7th house.
(The 1st house is called the ‘Lagna’ and apart from being a ‘kendra’ house, it is also a ‘trikona’ (trine) house. By virtue of it having 2 important roles/portfolios, it sometimes gains more strength and importance than even the 10th house.)
Order of Importance/Strength/Influence of Kendra Houses à 1 < 4 < 7 <10.
So, the 4 most impactful houses of the horoscope are the kendras, and in majority cases, the most impactful out of the 4 kendras is the 10th house.
Now, this order of strength is an astrological principle. ‘Strength’ implies several things, but chiefly means that a planet in the 10th house will do more and have a greater say, in the life of the person/entity, than a planet in the 4th or the 7th house.
Part 2 – Synonymous with Karma
The word ‘Karma’ literally means ‘action’.
In the Vedic culture, the most important thing has always been ‘Karma’ or actions performed by the person/entity. It has been more important than even ‘God’.
Some western cultures, give maximum importance to ‘God’, but for them too, the most important thing is still ‘Karma’. For some reason, they refuse to acknowledge it, or maybe haven’t yet realized. We will prove why…..keep reading.
Most people will agree, when meeting somebody for the first time, after the exchange of pleasantries and names, the first few words usually are - “So, what do you do?”
This is because, the world-over, people are known by their profession, even if the ‘profession’ or activity they are involved in, pays in kind instead of cash.
Why and how is ‘profession’ of a person, identified with his/her ‘Karma’?
‘Professional work’ is done in a 10-12 hour window on most days of the week, when people are awake, active and conscious about what they are doing. Actions performed while at work, constitute the bulk of ‘karma’ people accumulate in their life.
The fact that this karma is what people are asked about first, when meeting strangers, makes it the most important thing, in all cultures across the world, not just in the Vedic culture.
How is Karma linked to the 10th house? Why talk about Karma at all?
The nature, direction, field/area of the ‘karma’ of a person /entity can be seen / evaluated/adjudged /assessed /analysed by looking at the 10th house of the horoscope. This is because the 10th house signifies the ‘profession’ or ‘karma’ of the person /entity.
In our opinion, the following statement sums-up the message we are trying to convey –
Identity = Profession = Karma = 10th house of the horoscope.
So we see, most people begin conversations with an inadvertent mention of the 10th house. That is how important the 10th house is.
Part 3 – Significance in the ‘Astrology of Politics’
In mundane-astrology, (Medhini-Jyotish) or the branch of astrology which deals with horoscopes of countries, political-parties and other such large groups/organisations, the 10th house signifies the government, the people in power, or the decision-makers who decide for that group / organisation / country. Since the AAP is a political party, it is imperative that the strength of their 10th house is assessed and correlated with their victories and what they do after forming the government.
Also, this interpretation of the 10th house explains the ‘Karma’ over God theory.
à Who decides for the nation? The government.
+ Which house in the horoscope represents the government? The 10th House
+ Which house in the horoscope represents ‘Karma’? The 10th House
à Therefore, who decides for the individual? His/her own ‘Karma’ (not God)
Hopefully, the three-part answer would have explained to the readers, the importance and significance of the 10th house, and why we have listed all the noteworthy points about the 10th house in AAP’s horoscope.
Before going forward, let us quickly recapitulate what has been said so far –
Now please see AAP’s horoscope. You will find that Saturn is exalted (placed in Libra - 7), and it is in the 10th house. When we say a planet is exalted, it means it occupies a zodiac-sign wherein it is happiest. In addition to Saturn being in its exaltation sign, it is placed in the 10th house.
Please Note – Exaltation, and placement in the 10th house, are 2 different things. Saturn could have been exalted in the 9th house, or the 12th house, or any other house. But those houses would not have been kendras. Even if the house had been any other kendra, (4th or 7th) it would not have been as important, impactful and influential, as in the 10th house.
So, Saturn’s occupation of its exaltation-sign (favourite zodiac-sign), while being in the most powerful kendra-house, makes it a major influencer and decision-maker in the life-events of the Aam Aadmi Party.
Also, in AAP’s horoscope, the 10th Lord – Venus, is placed in the 10th house. This placement of the 10th lord in the 10th house, strengthens the 10th house considerably.
What does all this mean?
The meaning of all this is –
Question – How and why, will the AAP build ‘comfort and ease’ in the life of the working-class?
Saturn is placed in the 10th house of the horoscope with Venus. Venus is a planet that signifies luxury, comfort and vehicles. Through its association with Saturn, Venus will create luxuries, thereby making life easier for Saturn. The same combination (Saturn-Venus conjunction) is repeated in the Navamsha chart, but in the 6th house of 'service'. This implies, AAP governments will use available resources, especially technology, to make life easier for the ‘service’ class voter. AAPs initiatives for providing free public transport for women and students, subsidized electricity and water to the poor, free medical-treatment and world-class educational facilities for the under-privileged and door-step delivery of services and food-rations are some examples of how the promise of ‘luxury-creation’ made by Venus to Saturn, has been delivered-on through AAP’s karma (10th house).
Question – Several AAP leaders have been accused of corruption and put in jail. Is there any fire behind the smoke?
Since March 2023, the party has been running Venus-Saturn dasha. This dasha operates for a duration of 38 months and is notorious for knocking the ‘living day-lights’ out of entities/people which it operates on. Majority of the people who have experienced either Venus-Saturn or Saturn-Venus dasha in their life, will tell you that they had some moments during those 38 months, when they had near-death experiences and saw their entire life 'flash before their eyes' in a couple of seconds.
This is because this dasha repeatedly brings the person/entity, face to face with death or death-like/dire situations which are extremely trouble-some/humiliating.
This should tell our readers why AAP leaders have to face the situations that they find themselves in. If there had been any fire behind the smoke, there would have no delay in either furnishing of ‘case-clinching evidence’ by prosecuting agencies, or the pronouncement of adverse judgements by the courts in which the accused AAP leaders are being tried.
We are in March 2024 and only 12 out of the said 38 months have passed. Unless the General Elections of 2024 are conducted fairly, the Aam Aadmi Party will have to stand tall and brave-out the remaining 26 months of this dasha along with all the troubles that come with it. It is unlikely that AAP’s political opponents will allow it to breathe-easy even in the remaining 2 years of the Venus-Saturn dasha.
Question – Why is JyotishWorks.com, advertising for the AAP? Is the website run by an agent of the party? What is the purpose of this writing this article?
Answer – The primary objective of this website is to help our clients and readers in making informed and smart decisions, which they are less likely to regret later. The publication of this article is an effort towards achieving that objective. Through this article, we want to provide some inputs that can help voters in India make an informed decision about whether or not they should vote for AAP in the next election.
This website is NOT run by an agent or member of the Aam Aadmi Party. We have spent a lot of time in evaluating the horoscopes of significant political parties in India, and after all our analysis, we conclude that there is no other political party which will be able to match the voter-satisfaction score (if there were to be such a thing) that AAP can achieve after being in power for sometime.
We say this because no other political party, repeat….NO OTHER POLITICAL PARTY, has an exalted Saturn placed in the strongest ‘kendra’ house of the horoscope. As stated before, these are 2 different things, and in our opinion, they are unique features of AAP’s horoscope, neither of which will be found in the horoscope of any major political party registered in India. We say this with confidence because we’ve seen all their horoscopes.
Don’t Believe Us? ..... Check for Yourself
Those readers who don’t agree with us about no other political party in India being able to match the strength of AAP’s 10th house and consequently their capability to deliver on the promises of making life easy and comfortable for the working class, and want to verify for themselves before they decide on which party to vote for, should follow the steps listed below.

And finally, before we end this piece, we want the reader to think about the following questions –
In other words, did a smart astrologer carefully work-out a date and time for the official start/registration of the Aam Aadmi Party or are the ‘much-sought-after’ yogas in AAP’s horoscope just a coincidence?
OR
Ultimately, is it not the strength of the muhurta chosen for declaration of AAP as a new entity, (political party) the reason for its success?
If your answer is 'Yes' then you should see our Muhurta Calculation service page.
